Engaged in planning public buildings and supervising construction at Tama City Hall in Tokyo. In addition to working at the local government, he researched environmental problems from the root of problems.

Kazutoshi Fujihira, the founder and head of Institute of Environmentology, is an innovative scientist in the fields of environment and sustainability. His research started with clarifying causal relation between humans and environmental problems. After that, applying control science, he has been developing measures to control human activities toward sustainability. He has carried out research projects, including “Basic control system for sustainable development,” “Education for sustainable development (ESD) and environmental education,” and “Corporate social responsibility (CSR).” Recently, synthesizing these studies and his architectural background, he has produced a methodology for promoting sustainable housing design.
He is the author of many books, including “Sustainable Home Design by Applying Control Science” (2017) “Introduction to Environmentology” (1999), and “Comprehensive Strategy for Sustainable Housing Design” (2019, book chapter), as well as research papers, such as “An Educational Methodology for Sustainable Development” (2009).

He has appeared in Marquis Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering.

Kazutoshi Fujihira, the head of this institute, has appeared in Marquis Who’s Who in the World 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019. This appearance has been the result of Fujihira’s original and innovative “research activities on sustainability by applying control science.”

“Who’s Who in the World,” published by ‘Marquis Who’s Who’ which was established in 1899, is the most authoritative directory in the world. It contains short biographies of about sixty thousand people who have made remarkable achievements in a variety of fields.
Fujihira has also appeared in Who’s Who in Science and Engineering 2016-2017.
